Commercial Coarse Fishery Opens on The Isle of Man
The island’s first commercial coarse fishery will officially open to anglers this Saturday.
Located off Ballagyr Lane in Peel, Sunset Lakes has been stocked with several different species including carp, tench, roach and rudd.
With each of the five lakes stocked differently, there should be lots of variety on offer. Anglers of all abilities are welcome, and fishery managers Tim and Ben will be on hand to offer advice to those who are new to the sport.
The project is part of a plan that has taken over a decade to complete and has included input from Andrew Ellis, one of Europe’s most highly-regarded fishery consultants.
Fishing competitions will be taking place every Sunday – simply give the team a call on 230005 to get your name down on the starting list.
This is also the number to call for any other advice or enquiries, including anyone interested in fishing on the specimen carp lake.
This initial phase of opening is for anglers only, but there will be a grand opening for the general public in the spring. This will include the unveiling of the new on-site restaurant and lo cabin holiday accommodation.
